[authors] => Augustyn Bańka
[abstract] => The issue of career achievement motivation and its measurement was discussed in numerous publications in thecontext of international careers (Bańka, 2005, 2007; Miąsek, 2009), but so far no similar studies have been carriedon people who are about to become adults, and so facing the consolidation of the adulthood status by enteringcareer. This article presents the design and preliminary psychometric characteristics of Career AchievementMotivation Scale (CAMS). It was regarded as measure of causes location of career aspirations in two areas, namelyin the sphere of identity-related aspirations of being an adult, and an aspiration-related identity associated withbeing an active person in the labour market. The study involved 350 people (students) including 183 women aged21 – 30 years. The development of the scale was carried out in several stages. Exploratory and confirmatory factoranalysis was performed on the basis of the collected data and several versions of the scale of the different number ofitems and factors were tested. Finally, it was found that most satisfactory solutions of CAMS include the solutions,those consisting of 4 and 2 factors. Confirmatory analysis of the CAMS models, which was completed with the useof Structural Equation
