The aim of this article is to discuss the psychological mechanisms underlying the possibility of the self-construal priming. Referring to the model of situated social cognition and to the model of the semantic-procedural interface, the mechanisms of the priming of three self-construals: individual Self, relational Self, collective Self will be described. The article contains a brief overview of the methods used for priming of these self-construals. At the end of this article there is a summary of polish-language attempts to construct effective methods of priming the individual Self and the collective Self. The presentation of the theoretical basis for the self-construal priming and the description of the methods of the self-construal priming and its validation will help Reader to apply methods of the self-construal priming for scientific purposes.
