William Stern (1871-1938) an outstanding psychologist and philosopher is noticed in contemporary literature only as the creator of the intelligence quotient. His works in such domains as differential psychology, developmental psychology, and general psychology are neglected. A few attempts to evoke his achievements always bear a label “unjustly forgotten”. The article focuses on the presentation of the fundamental research problems in Stern’s scientific activity and it is an attempt to elaborate on the reasons for dismissing William Stern’s other works.
