One of the interesting measurement tools of the psychological well-being is the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ) proposed by Hills and Agryle (2002), which is widely used in psychological research all over the world and was subject to adaptation procedures in many countries. The objective of this paper is to develop a Polish version of the OHQ and to determine its psychometric properties. A pilot study was conducted in two stages (in total N=577). The final version of the Polish adaptation of the tool has been shortened and contains 23 items (OHQ-23). Its psychometric parameters such as reliability, stability and validity are satisfactory. The results of explorative and confirmative factor analyses indicate that the OHQ-23 has a two-factor structure comprising the life satisfaction and sense of power (factor 1) and the sense of purpose and control (factor 2). The whole scale reliability measured witha-Cronbach is .902, while for the individual subscales it is .882 and .827, respectively. We believe this questionnaire can be a valuable measurement tool for Polish researchers dealing with the psychological well-being, as it covers interesting aspects of the well-being not encountered in other questionnaires.
