The purpose of the study presented in this article was to determine whether and to what extent in the age of emerging adulthood the type of life orientation and the type of social participation are related to the generalized attitude towards the transition to the labor market. The research model takes into account the mediating role of preferred values by adopting Schwartz’s values circle. The analyses have confirmed expected correlations. The identification of the preferred value system has made it possible to explain attitudes towards the market of surveyed young people with different types of life orientation.
