The general purpose of this article is to analyse the selected personal correlatesof risk perception and risk taking in accordance to Zaleśkiewicz indices. The mentioned personal correlates represent the most popular temperament and personality variables from the Big Five by Costa and McCrae or the theory by Strelau including the sense of self-efficacy. In the research participated 60 entrepreneurs (because of the character of their activities). The group was obliged to complete the Stimulating-Instrumental Risk Taking by Zaleśkiewicz, the Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale by Schwarzer, Jerusalem and Juczyński, the NEO-FFI Scale by Costa and McCrae, and the FCZ-KT by Zawadzki and Strelau. The obtained results reveal that the most important determinant of stimulating risk-taking style is being active and of instrumental risk-taking style is the sense of self-efficacy. Sex modifies the obtained results. Amongst women the most important predictor of stimulating styles are openness to experience and sensitivity, of instrumental style is the sense of self-efficacy. Considering the results of men entrepreneurs, the most important variable is neuroticism (stimulating risk taking style) and the sense of self-efficacy (stimulating and instrumental risk-taking styles).
