Based on a conversational analysis of survey procedures and consistent with the norm of relevance, I predicted that participants’ verbal reports about female and male traits will be influenced by information that survey is about gender stereotypes. University students decided if successively provided gender-stereotypic traits are more characteristic to known to them women or men. The results indicated that information about survey topic increased a stereotypisation of men by women and women by men. Stereotypisations of one’s own sex were resistant to influence survey topic information. Results are discussed.
